Why did you choose INSA Lyon? Fields of study, laboratories, school reputation, experiencing French life?

I chose INSA because of their unique Information Science and Technology (IST) Semester. This program allows students in their final year of study in their bachelor's degree (or similar) to take topics courses that are taught in English. It was a great way to expand my technical knowledge and meet students from all over the world. I was able to do a research project with a professor which I was able to use for my senior thesis at my home university.

What did you enjoy during your INSA Lyon experience?

I enjoyed meeting so many students from different countries and backgrounds! The friendships I have made here are going to last me the rest of my life.

What did you enjoy in Lyon?

Lyon is a historic and charming city. There is always something to do – from Ayer's Rock's 1 euro beer on Mondays to festivals on the weekends – and a great student life.

What advice would you offer to future exchange students?

Make sure to have all your documents ready! It takes a lot of paperwork to get here and stay here but it's worth it!
